Mercy Amua-Quarshie MD MPH CMP,Board Certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist since 2001 was originally born in Ghana, West Africa, but grew up in NY where she received her Medical degree from New York University School of Medicine in 1995, and then went on to residency training in OBGYN at Boston Medical Center/Boston University. During her residency there, she was voted as best OBGYN teaching resident, and received a Berlex Labs award. After completion of residency training in 1999, she returned home to the greater NY area, where she worked in both teaching hospital and private practice settings.
After marriage, and a period of locums work, She and her family eventually relocated to the south, in the Dallas Fort Worth area, where she worked in the Methodist Health system as an OBGYN Hospitalist Physician for several years.
She comes with years of OBGYN experience, passion for teaching, and a special love for obstetrics, always endeavoring to honor sanctity of human life. She also has a burgeoning focus on the other end of the reproductive health spectrum: perimenopause/menopause management. She is recently certified by the North American Menopause Society (NAMS) as a Certified Menopause Practitioner.
Dr. Mercy has been married to her loving husband for over 17 years and has 2 children. She also has several other non-biological children dear to her heart, whom she teaches as lead teacher in the Children’s ministry of her Church. Christian ministry is a major outside responsibility of theirs. She also enjoys gardening, cooking, and helping relatives and community back in Ghana. She also tries her best to be healthy.
